Library Books Due
With exams and the end of another school year (and for seniors
a whole new world opening up) sometimes details can be missed. This
is a reminder that all Library books are due on
or before May 6th (the last day of exams). Anything
not returned by that date will be considered lost and a charge would
then be sent to your account with the business office.
Please take a few minutes to check whether you have anything checked
out from the library. You can do this online from Patron
Information Page of the online catalog. Just type in your student
ID and your last name. You can then see just what you have checked
out. If you have any questions, please call the the library at 8089
or visit us at the Circulation Desk.

E-Books Now Available
The NetLibrary collection of e-books is now becoming available
to the online
catalog. Books in this collection, which has been available
on NCLive for a number of years (as illustrated from an early EKS
Libris article),
can now be easily found on the online catalog. It is no longer necessary
to look up a title first in the catalog and then go to NCLive. Currently
over 7,500 titles from NetLibrary collection have been entered into
the catalog and that number will continue to grow over the coming
months. Representative titles in the NetLibrary Collection include:
- Agriculture: 105 titles
- Anthropology: 72 titles
- Art: 90 titles
- Bibliography and Publishing: 90
- Business: 1,126 titles
- Education: 265 titles
- Geography: 87 titles
- History: 961 titles
- Language and Literature: 1,210 titles
- Law: 161 titles
- Medicine and Healthcare: 534 titles
- Military and Naval Sciences: 98 titles
- Music 55 titles
- Philosophy: 450 titles
- Psychology: 194 titles
- Religion: 345 titles
- Sociology 167 titles
- Technology: 247 titles
What these figures do not indicate is the range of interest involved.
E-books included in the collection range from the scholarly works
to instruction to vocational to recreation. Because of the wide
range of audiences, one can find material in unexpected places.
For instance, a medical title might be of more interest to an education
major because it was written for a school-aged child and so could
be incorporated in a lesson plan.
Obtaining an e-book is straight forward. If you come across a NetLibrary
e-book while looking in the online catalog, you will see the following
in the main display:
Linked Resources: NetLibrary
(Password Required)
Simply click on the link. You will then be taken to an authentication
page where you would enter your University username (the first part
of your e-mail address before the "@" sign) and your password.
From there you will be taken directly to the e-book in the NetLibrary
collection.

searchable e-book format. Titles in this series include:
