Webliography Updated
New items included in the Webliography this week are in the areas of
Education and Literature, and a new Virtual Reference Desk has been added
to the list. Literature this week focuses on John Milton. Thanks
goes to Janet Spencer for including these remarkable sites in her syllabus.
The virtual reference desk is Bartleby.com, a ready reference resource providing
a wide range public domain material on the web. Sources range from
encyclopedias, dictionaries and thesauruses to literary anthologies, poetry
finders and quotation books and the Bible. There are a number of ways
to find either a reference or the full text. One may search by reference
"book," fiction by author or non-fiction by author--all by drop-down
menu. Common ready-reference tools are accessible from a navigation
menu.
Trivia Question:
Who wrote:
EIGHTY years have passed, and more,
Since under the brave old tree
Our fathers gathered in arms, and swore
They would follow the sign their banners bore,
And fight till the land was free.
Hint: It's in one of the profiled web-sites. The
answer and how to get there will be in next week's edition.
