The Ethel K. Smith Library Reference Department now subscribes to the Health
and Life Sciences Collection through Elsevier’s ScienceDirect College Edition
database. This resource provides full-text articles from approximately 950
scholarly journal titles in the Sciences and the Social Sciences fields of
study. Students can improve their subject area knowledge (and their research
skills) while using this collection since the content is designed to meet
distinct research needs for distinct communities of users.
Elsevier is a leader in providing trusted online resources to colleges world-wide
and publishes six collections as part of their ScienceDirect College Edition
online resources. Three collections contain primary research journals and
three collections contain leading reference materials. Our Reference Department
provides access to the primary research journals for health and life sciences
as part of the Health and Life Sciences Collection. Users can link from citations
to referenced full-text article and access scholarly information (i.e. specific
fields of study research findings or current trends) not available in any
other online database. Information from the present to 2001 is part of this
subscription. We do not subscribe to titles older than 2001. Interlibrary
Loan is still a viable option for older articles not part of the Reference
Department subscription.
