Featured Student Assistant for September 2013

Bethany Parmer: Featured Student for September 2013Congratulations to Bethany Parmer, EKS Library Featured Student Assistant. Bethany is a junior  majoring in Human Services, and this is her third year working at the library. She helps with many  special projects at the Library, and has a great rapport with both staff and patrons. Bethany stays busy on campus with Chi Omega, Bulldog Activities Resource Committee (BARC), and Peer Mentor responsibilities. Originally from Bellefontaine, OH, Bethany enjoys baking, and reading, as well as hanging out with family, friends, and pets. After graduation, she plans to go to graduate school to pursue a Master’s Degree in Social Work where she can become an adoption case worker.

Featured Student Assistant for March 2013

Elizabeth is a junior majoring in Secondary Education/Social Studies, with a minor in Chemistry. She has worked at the library for two years, and has a great rapport with both staff and patrons.  Elizabeth stays busy on campus with Sigma Sigma Sigma,  Campus Outreach, and Phi Eta Sigma. She also holds leadership positions for the College Panhellenic Council, SGA, and Summer Orientation. Originally from Greensboro, Elizabeth enjoys watching movies and hanging out with her friends. After graduation, she plans to pursue a career in teaching for Department of Defense schools.

Kirstie is a junior majoring in English, with a double minor in History and Sociology. She has been a library assistant at the Ethel K. Smith Library for all almost three years, and became a Saturday Supervisor last year. She is originally from Indian Trail, NC.

After graduation she plans to pursue a Master’s Degree in Publishing or British Literature. Kirstie stays busy with the English Advisory Board, her work in Conferencing and Facilities Services, and her teacher assistantship. Kirstie is such a positive and valuable part of our EKS Team!

Jennifer is a senior majoring in English, with a minor in Technical Writing. She has been a library assistant at EKS for all four years, and also became a Saturday Supervisor her junior year. She has proven to be a responsible and valuable part of the Library team. She is originally from New Jersey, but upon graduation she plans to stay in this area and pursue a graduate degree.

Jennifer volunteers with numerous organizations, including Habitat for Humanity. On campus she is a member of UCAN and participates in the Alternative Spring Break options.  Her interests include reading, writing soccer, travel, and DIY projects.  Congratulations Jennifer A. La Vine, our featured Ethel K. Smith Student Assistant.
