Reference Spotlight: NetLibrary

October 10th, 2008 by Isaac Meadows in Databases

NetLibrary’s eBook collection offers easy online access to the full text of more than 160,000 reference, scholarly, and professional titles from hundreds of global publishers including domestic and international university presses such as Oxford University Press. Access to NetLibrary is available from the Library’s databases page – just go to the Library homepage at and choose Articles, Citations, etc. from the Find column. Use the Basic Search screen to search for content by keyword or visit the Subject Center to find a list of titles arranged by subject such as Business, Fiction & Literature, History, Language Studies, and more. The Advanced Search screen allows you to limit your search by Author, Publisher, Language, etc.

NetLibrary titles are also available by searching the Library’s online catalog (Library homepage > Find > Books, DVDs, etc.). Titles displaying Library Location: NetLibrary or indicating [electronic resource] in the title are online eBooks accessible with your Wingate Network ID and password. Just click on the blue title hyperlink, scroll down and click on the link for Linked Resources: NetLibrary (Password Required), and enter your userid and password when prompted.

Once inside NetLibrary, click the View this eBook link and you will be taken to a searchable PDF of the title. Minimal copying is allowed, but printing is not enabled. Please note that eBook titles can be checked out by only one person at a time. If you see the message “All Copies In Use” then someone else has already checked out the title. However, you can still view the table of contents for the item and, after setting up a free account, request to be notified by email when it becomes available.

We invite you to take a look at what this wonderful resource has to offer, or stop by the library today for more information on all our Reference resources.
