Student Assistant Spotlight
Jennifer Layton and David Richards are in our student assistant spotlight this month. They are two very devoted assistants at the Ethel K. Smith Library.
Jennifer is a sophomore transfer student from Lees-McRae College. Her home is in Albemarle, NC. She is studying to be a corporate lawyer. Her major is History and she is also pursuing minors in legal studies and women’s studies. She is a member of the Phi Alpha Delta (Law fraternity). Aside from her vigorous interest in Law she also enjoys spending time with friends, hiking and traveling. Her avid
interest in travel will take her to London in the fall with the Wingate in London program. She describes herself as “super excited” about the opportunity to study in London. Jennifer currently assists Mrs. Williams in the Interlibrary Loan department.
David is a senior, Religious Studies/Philosophy Major. He is from Fayetteville, NC. He is a member of the Phi Sigma Tau (Philosophy), Theta Alpha (Religion), and Phi Eta Sigma Honor Societies. Upon graduating from Wingate University David plans to take a year off before attending Southeastern Seminary to get his Masters of Divinity and
going into Pastoral Church Ministry. David has been involved in many on campus clubs and organizations including CSU, EUP (Earthen Vessel Project) and SGA. He has been a library assistant all four years at Wingate
University. His hobbies include reading sci-fi (Star Trek), novels, and religious and philosophical books. His favorite author is C. S. Lewis.
