The Ethel K. Smith Library employs Student Assistants each academic year. Students may apply online during times announced through campus email. Applications are only accepted during announced times.
Ethel K. Smith Library Assistants are full-time undergraduate students with good academic standing (maintain a 2.5 GPA). Library Assistants work 7-10 hours/week, including some nights/weekends; must work modified schedule during exam week. Job duties include: greet, direct, and assist patrons; maintain strict confidentiality with all Library records; charge/discharge/shelve items at Circulation and Reserves Desks; provide printing assistance and instruction; perform laminating, binding, and copying services; gather and maintain patron statistics; special projects as needed. Assistants must possess mature work habits, project a helpful and courteous attitude, and maintain the accuracy and integrity of the Library’s collections.
